I am a fully qualified member of the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association with a B.Mus.Ed degree from the University of Melbourne, and am registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. My piano studio is an encouraging place where learning new skills is enjoyable.

My nine year old son has been learning piano with Gillian Gurtler for the past 3 years. From the first lesson, Gill’s love of music and passion for teaching shone through. She tailors his lessons to suit his interests and learning style, whilst ensuring his musical and instrumental skills are developing and strengthening week by week. My son has particularly enjoyed performing in the concerts Gill has arranged, the success he has had taking AMEB exams, and the opportunity Gill provides in his lessons to improvise and compose. I have been amazed to watch his confidence, focus and self discipline grow alongside his skill and love of music. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a remarkable and highly skilled music educator.
